Florian Plettenberg Reveals Major Update in Liverpool’s Pursuit of Hugo Ekitike
Liverpool have officially stepped up their pursuit of Hugo Ekitike, submitting a formal written bid to Eintracht Frankfurt for the 23-year-old forward — who is said to be eager for a move to Anfield.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg confirmed that this marks the first official offer from Liverpool, following several rounds of informal discussions.

“BREAKING: Eintracht Frankfurt have now received Liverpool’s first official written offer for Hugo Ekitike. Previous discussions were only verbal. Talks are ongoing, with no deal yet agreed. Ekitike wants to join Liverpool.”
Ekitike, who moved to Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2024, enjoyed a standout season with 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances. His pace, intelligent movement, and finishing have made him one of the Bundesliga’s top emerging forwards.
Liverpool Make Their Move
The formal bid signals serious intent from Liverpool’s recruitment team, with manager Arne Slot clearly prioritizing attacking reinforcements. According to Chris Bascombe, personal terms with Ekitike are already settled, suggesting the deal is edging closer.
