Arsenal Could Hand Xavi Simons Dream Welcome Gift if Andrea Berta Secures £60m Deal

Arsenal are intensifying efforts to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, with the 22-year-old pushing for a summer exit. The attacking midfielder, who registered 11 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances last season, is high on the Gunners’ radar as their third attacking reinforcement.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has already overseen the arrivals of Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with Cristhian Mosquera also nearing a £15 million switch from Valencia. Talks are ongoing with Sporting CP for Viktor Gyokeres, though add-on terms are yet to be finalised.

While Chelsea are also interested in Simons, Arsenal hold a unique advantage — they can offer him an immediate starting role and Champions League football, something Chelsea may struggle to guarantee under Enzo Maresca. A £60 million fee is expected to seal the deal, and Arsenal are hopeful Berta’s transfer strategy will deliver yet another marquee signing before the window closes.
