Mikel Arteta faced the media in Singapore today ahead of Arsenal’s pre-season clash with AC Milan, providing key insights on transfers, new signings, and their summer tour.
When asked about Arsenal’s pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres, Arteta remained tight-lipped, saying:
“I cannot comment on any player that is not part of our group yet.”
However, Sporting Director Andrea Berta recently confirmed the club is actively pursuing targets to strengthen the squad, particularly after setbacks in the Gyokeres deal.
Arteta also praised the recent arrivals of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard, who are all part of the 30-man squad touring Asia. On Zubimendi, he said:
“He had a lot of opportunities to decide where to go. This club is amazing and everybody wants to come here. We’re very excited about him.”
Arteta further added that the new signings bring “excitement and energy,” as Arsenal prepares for a packed season including the Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
