Headline: Arteta Responds to Thomas Partey Rape Charges, Confirms Arsenal Followed Proper Process

Mikel Arteta has addressed the situation surrounding former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey after the player was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. Speaking during Arsenal’s pre-season tour, Arteta declined to comment in detail, citing the legal complexity of the case, but affirmed: “The club was very clear in its statement… I cannot comment on any of that.”

When asked if the club was confident it had followed the right procedures, Arteta replied, “100%, yes.”

Partey, who left Arsenal this summer, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5. He denies the charges and intends to clear his name, according to his lawyer. The allegations stem from incidents reported between 2021 and 2022, with investigations starting in February 2022.
