Manchester United Eyeing Rapid Striker Benjamin Sesko, Says Romano
Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, recognized as one of the fastest forwards in the world. According to Fabrizio Romano via his GIVEMESPORT newsletter, the club has held internal discussions about potentially signing the Slovenian international. However, no formal offer has been made, and negotiations remain in the early stages.
Sesko, 22, has attracted attention from several Premier League sides in recent windows, including Arsenal. While the Gunners were previously keen, they’ve now shifted focus toward Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres, cooling their pursuit of Sesko.
Romano clarified, “The situation isn’t advanced. It’s purely internal talks right now,” indicating that neither the player nor Leipzig have been approached directly.
After a stellar 2024/25 season—scoring 21 goals and providing 6 assists in 45 matches—Sesko signed a contract extension with Leipzig last summer, keeping him at the Bundesliga club until June 2029.
Despite the growing interest, United are reportedly weighing multiple striker options. One alternative being considered is Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa, who may be open to leaving, especially if manager Ruben Amorim joins United.
As the summer window continues, United’s hunt for a reliable forward remains active, with Sesko among the top names being evaluated to bolster their attack ahead of the new season.
