Aston Villa Enter Race for Man Utd Outcast Alejandro Garnacho
Aston Villa have reportedly joined Chelsea and Tottenham in the race to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who has been sidelined from first-team duties. The 21-year-old is currently training separately alongside other exiled players including Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Marcus Rashford.
According to The Mail, Villa have officially expressed interest in Garnacho, who is also being pursued by his former club Atlético Madrid. However, the Argentine is said to prefer staying in the Premier League.
United are looking to offload Garnacho permanently to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, though they are open to loaning out the other fringe players.
Garnacho fell out of favor following his reaction to being benched during United’s 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham. Manager Ruben Amorim later explained that Garnacho had missed key chances in previous matches and justified starting Mason Mount instead.
Tensions escalated after Garnacho posted a picture of himself wearing a Villa jersey on Instagram—believed to be Rashford’s loan shirt. Since then, he and other unwanted players have been instructed to train only after hours at Carrington, separate from the main squad.
Meanwhile, Garnacho’s future remains uncertain as United prepare for their pre-season tour in the U.S., while he is expected to continue training in Manchester.
