### FIFA Changes Club World Cup Titles for 11 Big Teams

FIFA has made a major update to how it recognizes past Club World Cup winners.

After **Chelsea’s 4-0 win over PSG** in the 2025 final, FIFA now calls Chelsea the **first official “World Champions”** under a new format.

This change affects **11 top clubs**, including:

* **Manchester United**

* **Liverpool**

* **Manchester City**

* **Real Madrid**

* **Barcelona**

* **Bayern Munich**

* **AC Milan**

* **Inter Milan**

* **Corinthians**

* **Sao Paulo**

* **Internacional**

All these clubs are now labeled as **“FIFA Intercontinental Champions”**, not “World Champions” anymore.

Even clubs like **Real Madrid**, who won it 5 times, must **win again under the new rules** to be called world champions again.

Also, Chelsea won’t get an automatic spot in the **2029 tournament**. They’ll have to qualify again based on performance and rankings.

So far, four clubs are already confirmed for 2029:

* **PSG**

* **Al Hilal**

* **Pyramids**

* **Cruz Azul**

FIFA wants to make the Club World Cup more elite — and clubs now need to earn their place the hard way.
