Manchester United have bolstered Ruben Amorim’s squad with two key summer signings ahead of their U.S. pre-season tour. Matheus Cunha arrived early in the window, followed by the capture of Bryan Mbeumo — a vital addition after missing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea.
The club has also raised funds through sell-on clauses involving Alvaro Carreras, Anthony Elanga, and Maxi Oyedele, while Marcus Rashford’s loan move helped ease the wage bill. Efforts to offload Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho are ongoing, freeing up both wages and squad space.
A revamped financial strategy — including internal cost-cutting and strategic deal structuring — has allowed United to redirect more funds toward first-team investment.
United are still pursuing reinforcements in three key areas: striker, defensive midfield, and goalkeeper. Though they missed out on Hugo Ekitike (now with Liverpool) and Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal-bound), other targets like Benjamin Šeško, Ollie Watkins, and Nicolas Jackson remain on the radar, albeit with no active negotiations yet.
A new deep-lying midfielder is considered a top priority, and while another goalkeeper may arrive, André Onana’s role as No.1 is not necessarily under threat.
