Villarreal are set to submit a loan offer for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, according to L’Equipe. Disasi, signed from AS Monaco in 2023, is not part of Enzo Maresca’s plans and spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, who declined a permanent deal.
While Saudi club Neom SC remain in advanced talks with Chelsea, Villarreal’s interest introduces fresh competition. However, Chelsea prefer a permanent sale over another loan, with Disasi still having four years left on his contract.
Juventus and Newcastle have also made enquiries but are yet to advance talks.
