Chelsea have received encouragement from Xavi Simons to pursue his transfer, but as of Tuesday afternoon, no official contact has been made between Chelsea and RB Leipzig, reports Sky Sport Germany via journalist Philipp Hinze.
Simons, 21, is set to join Leipzig’s pre-season camp in Donaueschingen on Wednesday, despite missing training on Tuesday due to load management.
While Arsenal and Bayern Munich remain interested, Leipzig are demanding at least €70 million for the Dutch playmaker, underlining their reluctance to sell following his permanent move from PSG this summer after a stellar loan spell.
Chelsea are now weighing up their next steps amid Leipzig’s firm stance on valuation.
