Barcelona fans may be buzzing over Marcus Rashford’s arrival from Manchester United, but not everyone at the club is thrilled — especially 18-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal.
According to El Nacional, Yamal has expressed frustration toward club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, feeling misled about the club’s transfer plans. When he renewed his contract, Yamal had been told Nico Williams was the only winger the club aimed to sign. However, after Williams renewed with Athletic Club, the club pivoted to Rashford, finalizing a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The young star isn’t necessarily against Rashford’s talent — in fact, he initially supported the idea — but he’s disappointed that the club didn’t keep him in the loop, especially since they failed to fulfill his personal request to prioritize signing his close friend, Williams.
Despite this tension, Rashford is looking to reignite his career under Hansi Flick and is already training with the team ahead of their pre-season tour in Asia.
