Viktor Gyokeres has spoken publicly for the first time since completing his move to Arsenal, offering full clarity on why he rejected a switch to Manchester United. The prolific striker revealed that his strong relationship with Rúben Amorim was a decisive factor, saying the manager’s vision and style of play made Arsenal the right choice for him.
Gyokeres confirmed that Amorim was eager to reunite with him and made direct contact during the negotiation process. He admitted that Manchester United’s offer was tempting, but ultimately, Arsenal’s clear project, competitive ambition, and the opportunity to work under Amorim again made his decision easier.
The Swedish forward also expressed excitement about contributing to a new era at the Emirates, calling it a move that “just felt right” at this stage of his career.
