Harvey Elliott could be leaving Liverpool this summer in a move nobody expected. The 22-year-old midfielder, a boyhood Reds fan and one of the most loved players at Anfield, has struggled for regular game time and may look for a fresh start.
Elliott has always expressed his love for Liverpool, saying in June:
*“I love the club, the fans, and the team. I’d stay forever if I could, but it’s about what’s best for my career.”*
Now, German club **RB Leipzig** have entered the race to sign him. According to **David Ornstein**, Leipzig are in early talks with Liverpool and see Elliott as a potential replacement for Xavi Simons.
Liverpool are willing to sell but want **£40m with a buy-back clause**, or **£50m without it**. Elliott’s value has risen after he impressed at the U-21 Euros, scoring five goals and winning Player of the Tournament.
On Monday, Elliott scored in a 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao and was seen applauding the fans and blowing a kiss to The Kop, which many believe was a goodbye gesture.
Talks are ongoing, but if the deal goes through, it would be a shock exit for a player seen as part of Liverpool’s future.
