Liverpool are very close to completing a **huge transfer deal** for Newcastle United striker **Alexander Isak**, according to the player’s agent.
The 25-year-old Swedish striker has **told Newcastle he wants to leave** this summer to join **Liverpool**, the current Premier League champions.
### Isak Wants the Move – Personal Terms Agreed
Isak has already reached a **personal agreement with Liverpool**, meaning he’s happy with the contract and salary they’re offering. All that’s left is for the two clubs to **agree on a transfer fee**.
### What His Agent Said
Isak’s agent, **Gonzalo Gaitan**, spoke to the media and confirmed that things are moving fast:
> “We are currently evaluating and considering all options, and we may be nearing the finalization of the next step for the player.”
This strongly suggests that a **deal is almost done**.
### The Transfer Fee
Liverpool made their first offer for Isak last week, believed to be around **€126 million** plus **€11 million in add-ons**. Newcastle rejected that offer.
Newcastle are reportedly asking for as much as **€172 million** — which would make this the **biggest transfer in British football history**. For comparison, Liverpool recently broke the record by signing **Florian Wirtz** for **€136 million**.
### Why Isak Wants to Leave Newcastle
Isak is said to be **unhappy** at Newcastle for a few reasons:
* The club refused to meet his **wage demand** of €350,000 per week.
* He is **frustrated** with Newcastle’s lack of big signings and ambition.
* He believes **Liverpool is a better fit** for his career.
### Liverpool Making Room for Isak
To fund the move and make space in the squad, Liverpool are selling several players:
* **Luis Díaz** has joined **Bayern Munich** for **€75 million**.
* **Darwin Núñez** is also for sale, expected to bring in **€50+ million**.
* **Federico Chiesa** and **Harvey Elliott** may also be sold.
Liverpool have already spent **over €300 million** this summer, and adding Isak would be the biggest deal of them all.
### Isak’s Stats and Value
Isak has become one of Europe’s best strikers. Since joining Newcastle in 2022 for €73 million, he has scored **62 goals in 109 matches**.
Liverpool see him as the perfect player to lead their attack for years to come under new manager **Arne Slot**.
### What’s Next?
With everything nearly agreed, Isak could become a **Liverpool player very soon** — possibly before their season opener against **Bournemouth on August 15**.
