Liverpool Maintain Interest in Alexander Isak but Remain Firm on Valuation – Paul Joyce
Liverpool have not given up hope of signing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak despite an earlier £110 million bid being turned down. Following Darwin Núñez’s move to Al-Hilal, the Reds continue to seek a top-class forward and view Isak as their preferred target.
According to The Times’ Paul Joyce, the Merseyside club is closely monitoring Newcastle’s financial situation, especially their need to comply with Financial Fair Play rules, which could eventually force them to be more flexible.
Isak, 24, is admired for his goal-scoring record—21 goals last season—alongside his versatility and technical ability. Liverpool believe he would be a great fit under new manager Arne Slot’s system. However, the club is clear: they won’t overpay and will only proceed if Newcastle lower their demands.
While Liverpool are currently prioritizing other areas in the squad, a late move for Isak remains a possibility if the situation change.
