OFFICIAL: Darwin Núñez Leaves Liverpool as €53M Deal with Al-Hilal Finalized – New Era Begins at Anfield!

Liverpool Football Club have reached a full agreement to sell Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez to Al-Hilal in a deal reportedly worth €53 million (£46.3 million), with additional performance-based bonuses that could raise the total fee significantly.

Núñez, who joined the Reds from Benfica in 2022 for a club-record fee that could rise to £85 million, arrived at Anfield amid huge expectations. Despite flashes of brilliance — including key goals in both the Premier League and Champions League — his time at Liverpool has been marked by inconsistency, missed chances, and difficulty adapting to the club’s high-intensity style.

Sources close to the club confirm that Núñez first signaled his desire to leave back in January, frustrated by reduced playing time, tactical changes, and growing scrutiny from both fans and pundits. That desire only intensified this summer, as Liverpool began reshaping their squad under new head coach Arne Slot, signaling a shift in direction.

With personal terms already agreed and medicals expected to follow shortly, the 25-year-old becomes the latest high-profile player to move to the Saudi Pro League, joining an ambitious Al-Hilal project that has already attracted global stars in recent windows.

For Liverpool, Núñez’s departure not only frees up a significant wage and squad space but also opens the door for a new attacking signing. The club is now actively exploring the market for a versatile forward who can complement the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and Luis Díaz.

With just weeks left in the transfer window, all eyes will be on Anfield as Liverpool prepare to rearm their attacking line — and possibly deliver a marquee signing before deadline day.
