Zlatan Ibrahimović has delivered a typically bold statement on fellow Swede Alexander Isak, drawing a
sharp line between his own legendary career and the Newcastle striker’s current path.
Zlatan:
“He is a Swedish boy, and he knows very well what it means to follow in my footsteps. But let’s be honest playing for a Carabao Cup football club will never bring him close to the number of trophies I have lifted.”
Zlatan went further, insisting that Isak’s talent deserves a stage far greater than what Newcastle can currently offer:
“Newcastle must understand this they were playing for Isak, not the other way around.
