Newcastle United have been thrown into fresh uncertainty after Alexander Isak openly questioned his future at the club. The 25-year-old striker accused Newcastle of breaking important “promises” and declared that their “relationship can’t continue,” sparking major speculation about a transfer.
Isak, who is pushing strongly for a move to Liverpool, posted his fiery message on social media on Tuesday night. His outburst came only weeks after Newcastle rejected Liverpool’s opening £110 million bid, holding firm to their £150 million valuation (as reported by The Guardian).
Liverpool Ready to Return With Improved Proposal
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs revealed that Liverpool are prepared to come back with an improved offer if Newcastle show any willingness to compromise.
“Isak made it clear a year ago that he expected a new contract, and his frustration has only grown since then,” Jacobs explained. “His statement shows he has no plans to reintegrate into the squad. Liverpool are ready to go as high as £120 million, but £150 million is unrealistic – and it’s not a figure they’ve been directly quoted.”
Tense Situation at Newcastle
Despite Isak’s strong stance, Newcastle’s hierarchy remain adamant that he will not be sold unless their valuation is met. However, with the transfer deadline approaching, the Magpies would be left scrambling to secure a replacement if they eventually gave in.
For Liverpool, the determination to secure Jürgen Klopp’s ideal No.9 is unmistakable. If an agreement cannot be reached this summer, the Reds are expected to revisit the move in January or even in 2026. Still, with Isak insistent that his future lies away from St. James’ Park, pressure continues to mount on Newcastle.
