Liverpool Confident of £185m Double Swoop for Isak and Guehi

Liverpool are growing increasingly confident of sealing the signings of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi before the transfer deadline. Reports suggest agreements over personal terms with both players are already in place, leaving only their current clubs to secure replacements before the deals can be finalised.

The Reds, who have already completed seven big-name signings this summer including Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni, are now pushing to add Isak and Guehi in what could amount to a combined £185m outlay.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Liverpool are “ready to finalise” both transfers and are waiting patiently while Newcastle and Palace search for alternatives. Meanwhile, Football Insider notes that Liverpool remain in daily talks with Isak’s representatives and are preparing an improved second bid with major adjustments to the add-ons in their initial package.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Liverpool and Newcastle have resumed negotiations. Despite Newcastle’s persistent attempts to convince Isak to stay another season, the striker has made it clear he wants the move to Anfield. Romano explained:

“Newcastle tried with new contracts and direct meetings, but Isak’s stance is unchanged – he wants Liverpool. The club can’t wait forever, but they remain determined to get him.”

On Guehi, Liverpool are also expected to submit a fresh bid, with an agreement in principle already said to be in place.

Newcastle’s ability to let Isak leave may hinge on their pursuit of Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, though Wolves have already rejected a £50m offer. Brentford’s Yoane Wissa is also under consideration as Newcastle seek to bring in reinforcements before sanctioning Isak’s departure.

With the deadline fast approaching, Liverpool are pressing hard to complete what would be two of the biggest deals of the summer
