Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has opened up about his Liverpool departure, describing it as a “story of silence.”
The midfielder, who joined from Arsenal in 2017, made 146 appearances and won the Champions League, Premier League, Club World Cup, Super Cup and Carabao Cup. But his six years at Anfield were blighted by injuries that stopped him from becoming a regular starter.
Speaking to The Athletic, Oxlade-Chamberlain revealed he was never formally told his time was up. Instead, after months of silence, he was informed just days before the club announced he, James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Naby Keïta would leave. “The silence was enough,” he admitted.
