Arne Slot Confirms Andy Robertson as Liverpool Vice-Captain

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has officially named Andy Robertson as the club’s new vice-captain following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure earlier this summer.

“It’s Robbo,” Slot said. “He’s been here for many years, won the league twice. Last season, the leadership group included Virgil, Trent, Robbo, and Mo [Salah]. With Trent gone, this decision was the most logical.

“He’s a top player who plays regularly, understands what’s required, knows the club’s culture, and contributes massively in the dressing room. Beyond his quality on the pitch, he’s vital to the values we uphold here—a legacy from Jürgen [Klopp] that I want to preserve for the future.”

Robertson, one of Liverpool’s most experienced players, has already captained the side seven times. Since joining from Hull City eight years ago, the Scotland international has made 344 appearances for the Reds
