Cody Gakpo has committed his future to Liverpool by signing a fresh long-term deal at Anfield. Although the exact length of the contract has not been disclosed, his previous agreement was set to run until 2028.
The 26-year-old Dutch forward, who joined from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, has established himself as an important figure for the Reds. Since his arrival, he has made 131 appearances, scoring 42 goals and providing 19 assists in all competitions.
In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, Gakpo expressed his delight at extending his stay:
“It feels great to extend my stay at such a special club. My family feels at home here, which made the decision simple. I’m thankful and excited to create more great memories with Liverpool.”
Liverpool’s focus now turns to a crucial Premier League clash on Sunday, as they welcome Arsenal to Anfield at 16:30 BST.
