Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is reported to have played a role in advising Harvey Elliott on his next career move during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old midfielder has struggled to secure regular playing time at Anfield and is now on the verge of completing a permanent switch to Aston Villa.
According to journalist Indy Kaila, Klopp—now involved with the Red Bull football group—gave Elliott guidance about his future. That advice steered him toward Villa after RB Leipzig pulled out of the race. Kaila wrote on X: “Harvey Elliott took advice from Jurgen Klopp before moving to Aston Villa once RB Leipzig were no longer an option. Elliott shares a strong bond with Klopp.”
A Chance for Elliott to Rebuild His Career at Villa?
Elliott has shown glimpses of his talent at Liverpool and often proved useful as a squad option. However, he never managed to cement his place as a regular starter.
