Fresh Twist in Marc Guehi’s Liverpool Transfer Saga

New revelations have emerged about Marc Guehi’s collapsed transfer to Liverpool, shedding light on the defender’s growing frustration.

On deadline day, the Crystal Palace captain was denied a late £35 million move to Anfield. According to reports, chairman Steve Parish only met Guehi and his representatives around 6 PM, having spent part of the day at a Soho gym. By then, the deal was already under strain, despite Guehi having undergone a medical in preparation for the switch.

The transfer ultimately broke down after Palace failed to secure a replacement. A loan move for Brighton’s Igor Julio fell through on the final day, leaving manager Oliver Glasner determined to keep hold of his skipper.

The collapse has left Guehi furious, especially as he had behaved professionally throughout the summer. His stance contrasts with players like Alexander Isak and Yoane Wissa, who forced exits to secure their transfers. With his contract running down, Guehi now looks likely to leave Palace on a free at the end of the season.
