Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to have played a part in advising Harvey Elliott on his next career step during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old midfielder has struggled for consistent minutes at Anfield and is now close to sealing a permanent move to Aston Villa.
According to journalist Indy Kaila, Klopp—who now works within the Red Bull football group—offered Elliott guidance about his future, which ultimately pushed him towards Villa after RB Leipzig dropped out of the race.
Kaila noted on X: “Harvey Elliott took advice from Jurgen Klopp before moving to Aston Villa once RB Leipzig were no longer an option. Elliott shares a strong bond with Klopp.”
