Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has reportedly attracted a transfer offer while the window remains open in some European countries. Although the Premier League summer transfer window closed on September 1, nations like Turkey can still complete deals until September 12.
This summer, Arsenal strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Piero Hincapie, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. At the same time, seven players left the club, while Fabio Vieira and Karl Hein were sent out on loan. These movements have cast some uncertainty over Trossard’s future at the Emirates.
According to Turkish outlet Sozcu, Besiktas have made a €22 million (£19m) bid for Trossard, and negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, with Arsenal expected to respond soon. Earlier in the summer, Trossard had also been linked with Fenerbahce, where then-manager Jose Mourinho reportedly showed interest before his departure.
Despite the transfer speculation, football.london reports that Trossard is expected to sign a new contract with Arsenal. Talks with his representatives have been ongoing since the start of the summer, and the improved deal will extend his stay at the club until 2027. Manager Mikel Arteta has expressed satisfaction with Trossard’s contributions, noting his 27 goals and 13 assists over the past two seasons.
