Erling Haaland leads the shortlist for August’s Premier League Player of the Month award after another explosive start to the season.
The Manchester City forward scored three goals during the month, including a brace against Wolves and a landmark strike in his 100th league appearance against Brighton. That goal also secured him the record for the most goals scored in a player’s first 100 Premier League matches.
Haaland faces competition from several standout performers. Among the nominees are Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai from Liverpool, Riccardo Calafiori of Arsenal, Jack Grealish representing Everton, Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace, Joao Pedro from Chelsea, and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.
