Featured Latest NewsThe Athletic Reveal Impressive Feat by Facundo Buonanotte During International Break

Facundo Buonanotte scored a hat-trick in a behind-closed-doors game during the international break, according to The Athletic.

The 20-year-old midfielder, a surprise loan signing from Brighton, is expected to provide cover in both the number ten role and on the right wing. He was one of five attackers Chelsea signed this summer, and it remains to be seen what opportunities he will get this season.

Chelsea reportedly have faith in Buonanotte’s abilities. Last season, he spent time on loan at Leicester City, where he scored six goals and registered three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Although Buonanotte was left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad, he could make his debut against Brentford on Saturday evening. He will be competing for the number ten position with the likes of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

The Athletic added that Buonanotte’s three-goal performance came in a match featuring players not on international duty against the under-21s. His teammates reportedly pulled him aside afterward to congratulate him on the impressive display.

Cole Palmer Back in Training

Chelsea also received a boost with the return of Cole Palmer to training. The 23-year-old was seen training on Friday and could feature against Brentford, ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.

Palmer has missed two of Chelsea’s opening three games due to injury. Manager Enzo Maresca will have to decide whether to start him against Brentford or ease him in, keeping Wednesday’s trip to Bayern Munich in mind.
