Real Madrid’s name has once again been linked with a Liverpool star — this time Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have already endured a turbulent summer, losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Madrid in June while also parting ways with Darwin Núñez and Luis Díaz. In their place, Arne Slot welcomed Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Jeremie Frimpong, while veterans Salah and Virgil van Dijk committed their futures with fresh contracts.
Speculation remains around other key players, with Ibrahima Konaté tipped for a possible 2026 switch to the Bernabéu. But when it comes to Salah, insider Pete O’Rourke has poured cold water on the rumours.
“Real Madrid? They seem to be linked with everyone. I’d be surprised if they pursued Salah now — perhaps that opportunity has passed for him at this stage of his career,” O’Rourke told reporters.
The Egyptian forward, still Liverpool’s talisman under Slot, appears unlikely to follow Alexander-Arnold’s path to Madrid anytime soon.
