Marc Guehi Signals Palace Exit Amid Liverpool Interest

Liverpool may have been given a major boost in their pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with reports suggesting the player has told his club he plans to leave.

According to Christian Falk in his CF Bayern Insider column, the England international has made it clear to Palace that he intends to move on, as his contract at Selhurst Park nears its final stages. Guehi’s performances have caught the eye of several top European clubs, with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham Hotspur all keeping close tabs on his situation.

Falk revealed:

“Marc Guehi is a very interesting player for Bayern Munich. The key question is whether he’ll still be available when Bayern decide on Upamecano’s future. Talks are ongoing, and Bayern want him. But Liverpool were already advanced in negotiations during the summer, and Real Madrid could be another appealing option — possibly his preferred destination.”

He added:

“It’s clear Guehi has already told Palace he intends to leave in the summer. Tottenham are interested, but Chelsea, despite being his former club, aren’t heavily involved right now.”

Liverpool came close to landing the 25-year-old last summer and remain determined to reinforce their defensive line. With Virgil van Dijk approaching the latter stages of his career and Ibrahima Konaté’s long-term role uncertain, securing a young, top-tier centre-back like Guehi has become a key objective for Arne Slot’s side.
