Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly revealed the real reason why Eberechi Eze was left out of the squad for today’s match — despite initial plans to start him in place of the injured Martin Ødegaard.
Speaking after the team announcement, Arteta admitted that a conversation with Eze during training changed his decision completely.
“My plan was for him to start today since Ødegaard is out injured,” Arteta allegedly said. “But what he said to me during training yesterday made me change my mind and even drop him from the matchday squad. I know how to handle a player of his character.”
