Reports indicate Slot demanded full control of recruitment and a pay rise similar to Jürgen Klopp’s former deal. Fenway Sports Group (FSG) refused, leading to his immediate dismissal. Players were reportedly shocked, with some learning of the decision through the media.
The fallout has divided supporters. While some fans welcomed the move, others accused FSG of undermining the club’s identity. “Klopp built a dynasty — and FSG are tearing it down,” one supporter wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
