Liverpool manager Arne Slot has urged patience over Alexander Isak’s return to full fitness as the striker rejoins training after three weeks on the sidelines due to injury.
Speaking to reporters, Slot said:
“I know I mentioned that his pre-season had ended a few weeks ago, but after three weeks of rehab, it’s impossible for him to be at the same level as before. Even though our medical and rehab staff have done an incredible job, you can’t replicate the demands of actual matches. He’ll need some time to get back to full speed.”
Isak’s return comes at a crucial moment as Liverpool prepare for their high-profile Premier League encounter against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Slot also provided updates on other key players, confirming that goalkeeper Alisson Becker is expected to return after the international break, while Jeremie Frimpong may need more time to recover.
“Alisson for sure. But I don’t expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest,” Slot added.
