Liverpool’s long-term search for a successor to Mohamed Salah has brought several names into the discussion, and West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has consistently been among the top candidates. However, any hopes of signing him have taken a significant hit, as West Ham remain unwilling to entertain a sale unless they receive an exceptionally large offer.
Bowen’s position at the club remains secure, with his contract at the London Stadium running until the summer of 2030 after he signed a lengthy seven-year extension in 2023. This long-term commitment makes it even more difficult for interested clubs to negotiate a deal.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have both explored ways to bring Bowen into their respective squads, but recent developments suggest their efforts will likely be unsuccessful. Despite interest from the two Premier League sides, West Ham appear determined to keep hold of one of their most influential players.
Since joining the Hammers in January 2020, Bowen has evolved into a key figure, making around 250 appearances and scoring 77 goals. Even in a difficult 2025–26 season, with West Ham currently sitting 18th in the league table, Bowen has stood out as one of the team’s most reliable performers, contributing four goals so far.
Reports indicate that West Ham will only consider parting with Bowen if they receive a truly irresistible proposal. At present, no club has submitted a formal bid, though Bowen may be tempted by the possibility of Champions League football—an opportunity West Ham cannot offer.
Given his contract length and the value he brings to the squad, any club looking to secure his signature will need to put forward a substantial transfer fee.
**Liverpool and Tottenham Exploring Alternatives**
While Liverpool invested heavily in attacking reinforcements over the summer, the club is still in need of another winger, either in the upcoming January window or at the end of the season. Recent links have connected the Reds with AFC Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, as well as Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise—two players the club reportedly admire.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have shown interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and have also been linked with Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye in recent weeks. Although Bowen would represent a major signing for either club, both Liverpool and Spurs appear to be preparing backup options should the deal remain out of reach.
Bowen’s quality makes him an attractive target, but West Ham’s firm stance means that any pursuit will be complicated, expensive, and far from guaranteed.
