Lamine Yamal Nears Full Recovery as He Returns to Barcelona Training

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is close to completing his recovery process and appears on track to start against Athletic Bilbao this weekend, according to reports from Diario Sport.

The 18-year-old rejoined training on Wednesday and followed it up with another strong group session on Thursday, putting to rest any lingering doubts about his fitness. His return comes after undergoing an invasive radiofrequency treatment before the international break to address ongoing groin discomfort linked to pubalgia.

Medical staff had advised a rest period of seven to ten days, and the recovery timeline has gone exactly as planned. Yamal has responded positively to the treatment and has now entered the final phase of his rehabilitation. He has been fully cleared to reintegrate with the squad and resume normal training intensity.

Unless an unexpected issue arises in the coming days, Yamal is expected to be in the starting lineup at Camp Nou this weekend. His performances in training have once again highlighted the challenge he poses to defenders, something Gerard Martin recently referenced when discussing his experience facing the youngster in sessions at Barcelona.

Reports also suggest that both Yamal and Raphinha are likely to feature against Athletic Bilbao, while the club continues to take a more cautious approach with Pedri’s return
