Konate Addresses His Form
Speaking publicly on his social media platforms, the 26-year-old acknowledged the team’s difficult period and emphasised the need to keep fighting. His statement highlighted the importance of supporters who stay loyal during challenging times, noting that their encouragement remains crucial as the squad works to rediscover consistency.
Liverpool are currently 12th in the Premier League, having won and lost six matches each. Their Champions League campaign has been inconsistent as well, with three victories and two defeats from their opening five fixtures.
Carragher Among the Harshest Critics
Jamie Carragher has been one of the most vocal critics of Konate’s recent form. Following the heavy defeat to PSV, Carragher suggested that manager Arne Slot was risking his job by continuing to rely on the French defender. Konate’s mistake in the build-up to PSV’s third goal intensified the scrutiny, as he failed to clear the ball before Couhaib Driouech capitalised to extend the visitors’ lead.
This is not the first time Carragher has questioned Konate’s performances this season. After Liverpool’s opening-day win over Bournemouth, he described the defender’s display as particularly poor.
