🚨🔴 Bruno Fernandes’ Influence Reportedly Blocked Manchester United Move for James Maddison 👀⚽

A surprising transfer revelation has emerged suggesting that Bruno Fernandes may have unintentionally prevented Manchester United F.C. from signing James Maddison — a player who could now become available for a bargain fee this summer.

Since arriving from Sporting CP in 2020 for around £47 million, Fernandes has been the heartbeat of Manchester United’s midfield. The Portuguese playmaker has made more than 300 appearances for the club and scored over 100 goals, becoming one of the most influential players in the Premier League. His creativity has also been vital this season, where he currently leads the league in assists. 🔥

Back in the summer of 2023, United were exploring midfield reinforcements and were strongly linked with several England internationals including Maddison, Declan Rice, and Jude Bellingham. However, while Bellingham ultimately joined Real Madrid C.F. and Rice moved to Arsenal F.C., Maddison was considered a realistic option for United.

Despite that, United’s hierarchy reportedly felt that Maddison’s playing style was too similar to Bruno Fernandes, which led the club to abandon the pursuit. Instead, they opted to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea F.C. for £60 million.

Maddison eventually joined Tottenham Hotspur F.C. from Leicester City F.C. for around £40 million and has made a significant impact when fit. However, his current situation at Spurs could reopen the transfer conversation.

After suffering an ACL injury earlier in the season, Maddison has yet to feature in the current campaign. Meanwhile, Tottenham have struggled badly and find themselves hovering just above the relegation zone after a difficult run that saw former manager Thomas Frank dismissed and replaced by Igor Tudor.

If the unthinkable were to happen and Tottenham were relegated from the Premier League, several key players could leave the club — and Maddison would likely be among the most sought-after names. In such a scenario, he could become available for a significantly reduced transfer fee, potentially reigniting interest from clubs who previously passed on the opportunity.

⚽🔥 What once looked like a closed chapter in Manchester United’s transfer plans could suddenly reopen — and this time, the deal might come at a much cheaper price.
