City initially targeted Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and even held talks with his representatives in England. However, Wirtz now seems close to joining Bayern Munich instead.
With that move likely off the table, City are now focused on Dani Olmo, who is seen as a strong alternative. Since Olmo hasn’t been a regular starter under Flick, Barcelona could be willing to sell—especially if the offer is large enough.
