Liverpool Aim to Sign ‘World-Class’ Premier League Star

Fresh off their Premier League triumph, Liverpool are planning an active summer transfer window to strengthen their squad.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold departing, the Reds are closing in on a deal for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong. Additionally, the club is targeting Leverkusen’s creative midfielder Florian Wirtz, who is reportedly open to a move to Anfield, giving Liverpool an advantage over Bayern Munich in the race for his signature.

Busy Summer Ahead for Liverpool

Manager Arne Slot is eager to bring in more firepower. After a disappointing season from Darwin Nunez, Liverpool are searching for a new lead striker. Their primary target is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, according to GiveMeSport.

The 25-year-old Swedish forward impressed this season with 23 Premier League goals, trailing only Mohamed Salah among top scorers. Liverpool believe they have a strong chance of luring him to Anfield, though Newcastle’s asking price—reportedly around £120 million—would make Isak the most expensive player in British football history.

Despite the steep cost, Liverpool are confident they can meet Newcastle’s valuation and persuade Isak to join. While Arsenal have shown long-standing interest in the striker, they may not be able to afford him.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has praised Isak as a “world-class” talent
