Victor Osimhen recently made a private visit to Manchester United’s medical facilities, sparking rumors of an imminent signing. It’s now reported that Osimhen is on the verge of being unveiled as a new United player. Meanwhile, Manchester United remains active in the transfer market, still considering options like Viktor Gyokeres, who is also a target for Arsenal.
United have struggled with attacking depth this season, with Rasmus Hojlund underperforming and other forwards not fitting the mold of a true striker. Though Matheus Cunha is expected to join from Wolves, he’s more suited to a playmaker role.
Fraser Fletcher of TEAMtalk reports that Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap has emerged as United’s top striker target. With Ipswich recently relegated, Delap could be signed for around £30 million, a fee that interests United, and the player is reportedly open to the move.
Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, who scored 53 goals and registered 13 assists this season, is also on United’s radar, especially with coach Ruben Amorim pushing for the deal. However, Arsenal leads the race for the Swedish striker, with an official offer expected soon.
Gyokeres may be a more financially viable option than Osimhen, whose £400,000 weekly wage demands are proving too high for United. Gyokeres would accept about half that amount.
Despite interest from other Premier League clubs, reports suggest the striker is enthusiastic about a move to Old Trafford and may turn down Arsenal if United make a serious offer.
