Arsenal’s Pursuit of Rodrygo Stalls Over High Wage Demands

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Real Madrid forward Rodrygo have hit a roadblock due to his high salary expectations. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Brazilian star is requesting around €10 million per year in net wages—an amount Arsenal is currently hesitant to offer.

Despite this, there have been recent discussions between the club and Rodrygo’s representatives. The 24-year-old is reportedly open to leaving Madrid if the right opportunity presents itself, especially as he feels overshadowed by teammates like Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe.

Manager Mikel Arteta has highlighted the importance of staying competitive in the transfer market, but the financial demands involved in this deal may prompt Arsenal to explore other attacking options.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal remains interested, but whether the deal progresses will depend heavily on further negotiations around wages and transfer fees.
