Chelsea fans were frustrated with Noni Madueke’s performance during their 2-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
After the international break, Chelsea visited the King Power Stadium and took an early lead through Nicolas Jackson’s 15th-minute goal. They extended their advantage in the second half with Enzo Fernandez’s header, making it 2-0.
However, despite the victory, Madueke’s display drew criticism. The 22-year-old winger had a goal ruled out for offside and later blocked a goal-bound shot from Cole Palmer, resulting in a Leicester goal kick.
Fans took to social media to express their frustration, with some questioning why Madueke was still on the pitch, while others suggested he could lose his starting spot after the match.
Madueke was substituted in the 85th minute, with Jadon Sancho taking his place. In stoppage time, Leicester were awarded a penalty after Bobby Decordova-Reid was fouled by Romeo Lavia, and Jordan Ayew converted to make it 2-1.
However, Chelsea held on for the win, which kept them in third place in the Premier League, three points ahead of Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton. The Blues’ next match is against Heidenheim in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
