Just hours after Liverpool rejected an offer from Barcelona, Luis Diaz has spoken publicly about his future at the club.
Earlier today, David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed that Barcelona had made a move for the 28-year-old winger, only for Liverpool to reject it immediately, maintaining their firm stance that Diaz is not for sale.
Despite no progress being made on a new contract—with Diaz having two years left on his current deal—sources like Paul Joyce insist Liverpool aren’t actively trying to sell him. However, attempts by Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards to secure an extension have so far been unsuccessful.
What Did Diaz Say?
While on international duty with Colombia, Diaz addressed the speculation. Speaking to FCF Media (via journalist Pipe Sierra on X), he said:
“We’re talking to other clubs. That’s normal during the transfer window, and we’re looking at what’s best for us. If Liverpool offer us a good renewal or I stay for the remaining two years, I’ll be happy. Now it’s up to them.”

Diaz’s comments may concern Liverpool fans. Though he expressed happiness to remain at Anfield, he made it clear that the next move is up to the club. His remarks suggest he’s open to staying—but only if Liverpool demonstrates a strong commitment to keeping him.
