Currently, the Brazilian goalkeeper is under contract until 2026, with Liverpool reportedly having the option to extend it by another year.
Alisson was instrumental in the Reds’ recent Premier League triumph in the 2024/25 season, recording 10 clean sheets in 28 appearances. His clean sheet-per-game ratio (0.35) places him among the top keepers in the league this season, trailing only slightly behind the likes of Ederson and David Raya.

Alisson’s consistent top-level performances leave little doubt that he should continue as Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper. Although the club secured the services of Giorgi Mamardashvili last year, who could eventually challenge for the No.1 spot, there’s no immediate reason to consider replacing Alisson.

Given that goalkeepers often enjoy longer careers than outfield players, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Alisson still guarding the net for Liverpool in 2027, when he’ll be 34.
However, a move back to Brazil could be on the horizon. Alisson has previously expressed a desire to return to his boyhood club Internacional before retiring. As quoted by the Echo, he said:
“Everyone has their own path, but I want to go back—especially to Inter. I don’t know when, but I want to do it while still performing at a high level. That’s my plan.”
