Barcelona is pushing forward with its plans to strengthen the squad this summer under new coach Hansi Flick, aiming to restore its dominance both in La Liga and Europe—with the Champions League as the ultimate goal.

According to *El Nacional*, young star Lamine Yamal is becoming increasingly influential off the field. He has made it clear to the club’s hierarchy that his top recommendation for a new signing is his Spain teammate and friend, Nico Williams. Yamal is eager to reunite with the Athletic Bilbao winger at Camp Nou, citing their great chemistry developed during national team duties.

Yamal considers Nico the perfect fit for Barcelona’s left wing, praising his pace, dribbling, and compatibility with Barça’s playing style. While he also respects talents like Marcus Rashford and Luis Díaz, he believes none match Nico’s synergy with him on the pitch.

Though Barcelona hasn’t yet made a formal offer, they haven’t dismissed the idea of pursuing the transfer. Nico’s release clause is known, and the club doesn’t see it as an insurmountable issue. However, Barcelona’s financial limitations may affect the final decision, and the board must weigh its priorities carefully.

Still, pressure is reportedly mounting internally. Yamal, who is gaining more influence in the squad, is supported by fellow youngsters like Gavi and Balde, who are also in favor of bringing Nico in.

Ultimately, the decision now rests with President Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, but one thing is clear—Yamal is determined to see Nico Williams join him at Barcelona for the 2025/26 campaign.
