Liverpool Nears Major Signing as Florian Wirtz Deal Edges Closer to Completion

Talks between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen regarding the high-profile transfer of German sensation Florian Wirtz have taken longer than initially anticipated. Despite delays, there is now growing optimism that the transfer is entering its final stages and could soon be finalized.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, the long-awaited agreement is almost in place. “I expect the medical to take place in the coming days,” he stated. “We anticipate a full agreement between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen within the next one to three days.”

The total value of the deal is now estimated at around €150 million, factoring in a significant set of performance-related bonuses and add-ons. This would make Wirtz one of the most expensive signings in Liverpool’s history, underlining how highly the club rates his potential.

Crucially, Wirtz himself is reportedly “totally convinced” that the move will go through shortly. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has expressed a strong desire to join Liverpool, even prioritizing the Merseyside club over other European giants such as Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Personal terms between the player and Liverpool are not expected to pose any obstacles, as both parties are understood to have already aligned on key contractual aspects. The deal now hinges on the final agreement between the clubs and the successful completion of the player’s medical.

If finalized, Wirtz’s arrival would mark a significant statement of intent from Liverpool, signaling their ambition to rebuild and compete at the highest level in the upcoming season
