Harvey Elliott has suggested that he may consider leaving Liverpool during the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking candidly, the young midfielder said, “I don’t want to waste valuable years of my career—football careers are short.”
He explained that he’s taking time to reflect on his situation: “I need to evaluate if I’m happy with my current role and how I can continue to develop.”
Elliott emphasized that his main focus is personal growth: “I just want to keep improving and become the best version of myself. If that means moving elsewhere, it’s a choice I’ll have to consider.”
He made it clear that his desire to potentially move isn’t due to dissatisfaction with the club: “There’s nothing driving me away. I love Liverpool—the fans, the team, everything. But ultimately, I have to do what’s best for my career.”
Earlier this year, Elliott had stated his full commitment to Liverpool and dismissed any thoughts of leaving.
However, circumstances have since evolved. He has had limited playing time under new manager Arne Slot, starting only two league matches—both after the Premier League title had already been secured—possibly prompting a reassessment of his future at the club
