Liverpool Forward Targeted in Potential Summer Transfer
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal have reportedly opened communication with the camp of Darwin Núñez, expressing preliminary interest in a potential summer transfer for the Liverpool striker.
According to insiders, Al Hilal—known for landing big-name players in recent windows—are exploring the possibility of signing the Uruguayan international. While no formal offer has been made, early discussions have taken place to assess Núñez’s openness to a move and the terms that would be required.
Núñez, 25, joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 in a deal worth up to £85 million. Despite moments of promise, his inconsistent performances have led to speculation about his future, especially as Liverpool enter a new chapter under manager Arne Slot. Al Hilal view this transition period as a chance to make a move.
The Saudi club is believed to be ready to offer a highly attractive financial package, one that could place Núñez among the highest earners outside of Europe. Still, it’s unclear whether the striker is ready to leave European football at this stage of his career.
Liverpool have not issued any official response to the reports, and it remains to be seen if the club is open to letting Núñez go, given he still has multiple years remaining on his contract.
This potential deal would fit with the Saudi Pro League’s broader ambition to lure top-tier talent, following previous signings such as Neymar, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Sergej Milinković-Savić
