Hansi Flick Keen on Barcelona Moves for Luis Díaz and Thomas Partey: Club’s Ambitious Transfer Plans Revealed
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly enthusiastic about potential deals to bring Luis Díaz from Liverpool and Thomas Partey from Arsenal to Camp Nou—two marquee names aimed at strengthening the team ahead of the new season.
After a domestic treble—winning La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup—the club is now shifting focus to boosting its chances in European competitions.
Star striker Robert Lewandowski praised Flick’s leadership, saying the team had a near-flawless season, despite falling short in the Champions League. The 35-year-old striker remains driven but admitted he’s contemplating a future move outside Europe, possibly to Saudi Arabia or MLS. He acknowledged that finding a suitable long-term replacement won’t be easy, naming Erling Haaland and Victor Guirres as ideal but noting that team compatibility is just as important as raw skill.
Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola had kind words for Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García, who is attracting interest from both Manchester City and Barcelona. With a €25 million release clause, García is seen as one of Spain’s top young keepers. Guardiola also praised Lamine Yamal, drawing comparisons to Lionel Messi, though he emphasized the 17-year-old still has a lot to prove.
Barcelona appears seriously interested in Luis Díaz, even though he remains under contract with Liverpool until 2027. Despite Díaz’s stated contentment at Anfield, recent hints—including a cryptic post from his partner—have stirred transfer speculation.
