Virgil van Dijk Sends Emotional Message to Liverpool Fans After New Title Parade Footage Emerges

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has shared a heartfelt message on social media as the club continues to revel in their Premier League title success.

Van Dijk lifted the trophy at a jubilant Anfield, celebrating a commanding season under new manager Arne Slot. The 2024/25 campaign marked a seamless handover from Jürgen Klopp, with Slot leading the Reds to league glory in his debut year.

Liverpool finished the season 10 points clear at the top, with Van Dijk’s defensive partnership alongside Ibrahima Konaté proving crucial. Together, they helped the team register 14 clean sheets — the best in the league.

The season also marked a major personal milestone for Van Dijk, who surpassed 300 Premier League appearances, a journey that began during his stint at Southampton.

Posting fresh clips from Liverpool’s celebratory title parade on Instagram, the 32-year-old wrote: “What a day! Thanks for all the love.”

Van Dijk featured in 49 matches across all competitions this season, playing over 4,400 minutes. Amid earlier speculation surrounding his contract, he ended uncertainty by signing an extension to remain at Anfield.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold opting to leave, Van Dijk is now expected to be a key figure in guiding the squad into a new chapter under Slot’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s ambitions remain sky-high. Reports suggest the club is closing in on a mega-money deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz — a move worth up to £200 million including wages and fees. The Reds are reportedly ahead of Bayern Munich and Manchester City in the race to secure the highly sought-after German international, as they look to build on their domestic success and aim for European dominance
